aftermarket Hi output alternator question

Has anyone installed a Hi output alternator on there vehicle?
I want to replace the stock 70 amp alternator with a 120 amp one
Im curious as to what is involved, can it just be dropped right in with no change or mods to the electrical system.

usually a higher output alternator that's made to "drop-in" to a car can do just that because it is essentially just a re-wound stock alternator to put out more amps
