a shop usually charges as much as 200dollars (USD) for installs, as for springs- i am very happy with the setup i have- whitelines on the front, intrax on the rear, and tokico struts to support them.

i cant stress enough... if you are going for a low drop... BUY STRUTS TOO- you will bounce all over the place, and bottom out constantly.

with eibachs, they are designed for stock struts so you should be fine- but they wont drop you that much

1 strut per wheel since we have independent rear suspension- that means you have to buy 4 struts. theres not much more to understand..

Hi

i have a 2000 camry and installed tokico struts and eibach pro-kit springs. i really like the setup. the ride is a bit firmer, but not too much, but the handling is much better. i think the springs dropped my car by about 1.2-1.5 inches front and back. it is not as noticable as some civics, etc, but when you put it next to a stock camry, it's noticable. i also have 17" rims, so it all goes well together. the springs dropped the car enough so that not much wheel gap is there anymore. the shop i go to charged about $210 to install the springs and struts, which isn't too bad a price. check ebay to find the cheapest prices on the springs/struts.

hope this helps

200 for install? wow i'd think they're crazy for that.

here in cali it's no more than $100 for install. and worst case that shop charges more it's $125. but anyways, at least you got them put on. =)

Or free and an afternoon and you do it yourslef.

And I think the $200 is about normal for springs/struts, your $100-$125 may be just for one of the other.

it costs the same whether you are installing springs only, struts only, or both springs and struts. it is in fact easier to install new springs along with new struts than just replace one or the other.

if you dont have the right tools (i.e. jackstands!) dont even attempt this- wouldnt want to end up with your head stuck between the car's frame and the ground!

I am not sure where you were quoted, but not too many places will just install you struts for free. Yeah it may be easier to do the struts/springs at the same time but the shop wont just install the struts for free.

But hey, I have jackstands and I did the work for free in my garage. Not as hard as I thought it was going to be, IMO.

Yes, I'm thinking about doing it myself...but then again I've heard people tellin me at my work they know people who will do it for 60-100...so I dunno which is a better deal. Am I getting myself into hell if I do it myself?
