The flanges are made from 3/8" mild steel and the section in the middle is made from 1/4" mild steel. Everything is tig welded together.
I traced the flanges on the manifold and turbo onto a piece of mild steel and cut them out with a torch. Would of used a plasma cutter, but it was broken at the time.
The holes in the middle of the flanges were cut out (also with a torch) as large as they could be without interfering with the bolt holes.
I then drilled the bolt holes with a drill press.
The pieces for the middle section where then cut out on a line cutter (torch head mounted to a motor that rides on a track).
All the pieces were then tig welded together.
After that I polished up the inside of the adapter with a die grinder and grinding stones.
The bolts the hold the turbo have also been welded onto the adapter to make it easier to bolt up the turbo.
I also made a flange for my friends CT-26 and welded a 2.5" pipe to it which later became the downpipe. I'll try to take a pic of it sometime. Its sweet.
The adapter and flange for my friends CT-26 was made at school (welding shop).
