Install PIE AUX input for 2006 Camry

Hello,
I have a 2006 Camry LE with the stock factory radio + CD. I want to install an aux input unit for my MP3 (non-ipod) player. I was looking at the PIE TOY03-AUX. Anyone have experience with this. I found instructions for removal of the head unit - looks a bit scary, but I think I can do that. I gots quotes for an install by a "pro" and they wanted ~$300. I would like to attempt to do the install myself. It looks simple.
Any suggestions, please!
Thanks,
Leor

Gen6

I've been using PIE TOY03-AUX happily for a few years now. First in an 05 Highlander (non-JBL) and is now in my 07 Camry (non-JBL). Although the camry has an aux input built in, without a gadget wrapped around the audio wire (can't remember the name), there is a buzz- since I already had the PIE I used it and it works.

I'd guess you can find directions for getting to the back of the radio in the Gen5/6 group. Charging $300 is outrageous. Once the you have access to the back of the radio, all it is, is plugging in the PIE cable into the only place it'll fit (which is the CD changer port).

Run the audio wire from the PIE to your device and viola... almost instant aux port.

Good luck getting behind the radio, once there the jobs a cinch. For a really clean look (if you need to also charge the device), think about adding a cig lighter behind the dash so the only visible wire is the audio cable.

Disclaimer: I don't know if the PIE works with a JBL headunit.
