Lightbulbs burning wiring harnesses??

Hey guys..I got some lightbulbs off the internet.

100W 5000K 9006 for my lowbeam obviously

But I heard that high wattage bulbs can burn the wiring harnesses because they only handle a certain wattage...thing is piaa replacements go up to 110W..so will the bulbs burn the harnesses? the headlight housing??

Anyone who has changed their bulbs advice is appreciated~!!!

100W!! whoa that's crazy.. take them off fast

i mean the silverstar 60W are like ok, stock is like 55W i think

80W+ gets dangerous and you risk burning the wiring

so id say ungrade wiring or change ur bulbs

You are fine as long as you don't use them for more then 6 hours straight (long trips)

I use 80W myself

but still, the harness has a limit and 100 watts is a lot even if he uses it for an hour or two at a time there's still a good risk of burning the harness

Well, let me say this:

"I'm a grown man that's made ALOT of mistakes.........."

so basically my knowledge has come from making bad mistakes in the past, trying to be cool but not doing any research before I messed with my lights. But after I hung out in forums, and did some reading....I was able to learn.

I burnt out my custom wiring harness after 6 months on 65 watt high beam bulbs.... The fuse holder melted as well, it was using 14 gauge wiring!
