Dash light will not go out

I have a 1996 Camry Le V6. It has a dash light to notify the driver if the brake lights are out. Mine will come on and stay on after the brakes are applied if the parking lights are on. None of the exterior lightsm on the car are burned out. What can cause this?

I had the same problem a little while ago. I thought all my lights worked but the right rear brake light was out. Best thing to do is at night start up your car turn on ONLY the parking lights walk around check all lights...then turn on ALL your lights and have someone stand in the back while you press the brake pedal...don't forget the high mount or the spoiler if you have one...most likely you'll find that one is out.

Hope this helps.

that probably mean something wrong with the brake system as well, you can check to see if brake fluid is low. if you top off brake fluid and low again later, chances are, you might have a leaking brake line hose.
