my driver side headlight is really crooked

i realized that my driver side headlight was aiming very far to the right (didn't really notice it in the driver seat.....only realized it when i went to adjust the height of the beam) and the only way to make the shine forward is to adjust the horizontal adjust screw until the part of the headlight closest to the grill sticks out an inch and a half. not only that, but it seems like the farther i aim to the left, the lower my maximum height for the light becomes. now my driver side light is aimed forward but i can't make the beams level because my driver side headlight won't go any higher and the other headlight won't go any lower. since i bought this car used, would this be a sign of an earlier accident where the chassis had to be straightened and is thus misaligned? my carfax said nothing about accidents on it. please help, the headlight is so fugly sticking out like that

Buy another one off a junk yard or order a brand new one at Ebay.

you'll most likely be quite a bit happier with new headlights anyway....they're a lot cleaner then what you probably have right now....just make sure you change both at once, else it'll look a bit on the odd side.

on the contrary, they're quite clean (other than that splattered remains of a bug on the driver side headlight) and they're not yellowy. i even took time to use some rubbing compound on it and i actually noticed a slightly brighter light on a wall. but yeah, you're right, it's better if i replace both at the same time to make it even

wish ctmotorsport's projector headlights are ready

yeah... get the haynes manual....
the top screws seem like they do nothing but they do.
turn the top screws clock wise to raise the beam. and counter clock wise to lower... your probably turning the wrong way and it has now gone as low to the max, wont go any lower now but keeps on turning.

i cant find my haynes manual, but i remember your supposed to use a flat wall on a level surface and drive up to the wall as close as you can.
mark a horizontal line at the hight of the center of the headlight housing on the wall with some tape. and a vertical line at the center of each headlight housing one the wall, making and H sorta shape on the wall.
i just made little crosses at those point. no need wasting tape.

now back up about half a car length, witt the low beams on adjust the beams so that the center of the beam is approx 2.5 inches below the crosses.

now for the side ways adjustments. the drivers side should be 2 inches to the right of the right cross, it dddoesnt blind on coming traffic and the passinger side light sould be dead on the left cross.

its kinda hard to tell where its pointing, sideways wise. what i did was jsut adjust the back screw until the headlights looked flush with the bumper and grill on both sides... works out good too that way.

remember this is off my head. ill update this if i find my manual.

lata.
