Camry overheating

My Camry has been overheating leaking coolant off and on since the beginning of summer. At first, it would overheat and leak coolant if I drove for more than 35 mins. Coolant would leak only from the coolant oveflow bottle since the plastic bottle is cracked slightly at the corners. The upper radiator hose gets hot when the car overheats. Lastly, I've flushed the radiator a couple months before the summer.

With that info, I have a some questions.
- How do I know if my water pump needs to be replaced?
- Is the upper radiator supposed to be hot (my co worker said it should be cool)?
- Would the cracks(on the top) in the coolant overflow bottle cause overheating?

2.The top of the radiator should be hot!
3.It could be the problem, since coolant will be sucked back. If you have a leak of the overflow bottle, then u r losing coolant.
