Camry 2007 Airbag

Hallo all,

I am a new member, I had purchased a new Camry last month and I found that the wooden frame on the place where Airbag located (see the picture below)
I wonder that this frame is not safe when the airbag activated. it will blow the frame to the passenger in the front seat

any one know about this??

You should be fine, I believe the airbag comes out of the darker material above where the wood grain is.

You'll be fine. Toyota would not design the airbag system in a way that it would throw that wood trim at you.

tiswicked, under the OP's name it says China but could be Taiwan ROC also. The Camry in those two places is called Aurion in some places.

I believe they all have the Camry's just like the US (just slightly different), and the Aurion is a different model, since they dont have the Avalon.

^ Go to toyota.com.tw and toyota.com.cn and compare the Camry to the Aurion on the toyota.com.au site. They look the same to me.

I'm not really sure what you are trying to say. I was saying that the Aurion isn't the Camry in other countries, and that those countries have the Aurion in addition to the Camry.

This is from the Toyota.com.au site:

The Aurion IS a Camry. Only difference being the bumpers and lights. Think of it as an SE model. Inside of both cars are identicle.

On the original note, as other said, it;s fine. It would not have passed the US safety if it weren't.

Although it costs over $10K more

Just because it uses the same platform, I wouldnt consider it a "Camry". Just like how you dont consider the Lexus ES350 a Camry...

Can you not read? Go to toyota.com.tw and look at the Taiwanese Camry. It is basically the same thing they sell in Austrailia as Toyota Aurion. I don't how else to say it.

Since I have to break it down Barney style for you due to your lack of reading comprehension skills, here is the URL to find the Taiwanese Camry:

http://camry.toyota.com.tw/ <- this is a link you can click on or copy and paste into another browser window.

The Camry with 2.0 starts at approximately US$24000 and the top spec 3.5 starts around US45000.

I don't know why you're being an ass about it, I didnt look at this site earlier, I looked at the Australian site (that you posted as well), and their Camry is almost identical to ours. Granted the Taiwanese Camry is basically an Aurion, not all outside of the America's are.

Okay, getting a little out of control but I guess the summary was that the US (North American) Camry and the Toyota Aurion do share a great majority of parts but they are two different vehicles (barely). Also in some regions, the Toyota Aurion is called and sold as the Toyota Camry. I guess its like one of those things like how the Ford Taurus & Mercury Sable are the same vehicles but minor difference. Or the Chevy Tahoe and GMC Yukon relationship.

^ Correct. Or keeping it in the Toyota area, the Aurion is the Camry as is to the Solara. Just the Aurion and Camry are a lot closer then is even the Solara. You can make the US Camry look like the Aurion with only changing the body. Not even any cistopm work, all bolt on/bolt off.
