Do you really reckon you need to change it out? I mean I only bleed my brakes after changing the pads. Even then one person on the brakes, me at the back with some pliers. Its quite easy to do w/o modifications..I know I'm not helping but just seeing if I can get you to reconsider before you reinvent the wheel..they do say "Don't fix whats not broke."

Speed bleeders are like 10 bucks a piece. To be able to bleed the brakes twice a year without needing a second person around to help is worth every penny to me.
I have them on my Prelude and I can bleed all 4 brakes alone in about 15 minutes ... which is great considering I flush the system about 4 times a year in that car.

Come on now I wasnt disagreeing with the idea I was just trying to find out the benefits of a speed bleeder. In anycase I don't see specs for the threads in Haynes. I do know it's a 3/16" vinyl tube to go over the bleeder valve but I don't see anything about removal of the bleeder plug...u may have to just yank it out and see what fits?
Can you post the website where you get these plugs or possibly a picture of your prelude's installed speed bleeder? I need to change my pads soon and it would be a real benefit being able to do it by yourself

well, on the site 88le provided us, they have an application guide there and it shows our car, unfortunately, it did not specify the exact size and stuff.
Yeh the part number is SB7100 but from experience it is safer to compare the valve specs as well. The Prelude part number was incorrect originally but it looks like the may have fixed that now on the website.
Also if the original "speedbleeder" is out of stock there is an Earl's alternative.
As you can see from the website the valves don't look any different from the outside. so a picture of them installed on my Prelude would really show nothing significant :P
If you are in Toronto (Markham area) you can order them through Speedtech (on Silverstar off Midland). Although, I think Canadian Tire can get them as well. But from your info this location won't help much. I guess you could order direct or through Summit Racing..

Good to know thanks 88LE and Grant I'll probably get a set of those for all four calipers!
