hey guys, ive got a quick question. I recently outfited my 94 with clear tail lights and clear corners. The problem is that the colored bulbs show through the lenses, causing my lights to look funky during the day. My friend also has a camry and told me that led bulbs are the way togo. they look clear when off and colored when on. I looked these bulbs up on autodynamic.com and they have all of them. my question is will this bulbs work and function properly? i just want to know because they are somewhat expensive. any advice is welcome. thanks
wow that would be cool if paint worked... can i get high temperature paint from any old hardware store or is it a special order type product? and the color (i.e. red and amber) will still show through when lit? that would be great, then i could use my birthday money on cooler things for the old camry thanks for the help fellas.
I have a B&M stacked plate transmission cooler (16000gvw/$42. Summit Racing) installed in my 2000slev6 and have noticed a significant reduction in transmission oil operating temperatures. I prefer this cooler because of its low pressure drop and the automatic bypass built in. It will bypass the cooler until the oil heats up (ie. thins out). Will not overcool the transmission. Very rugged unit.
I mounted the cooler about 2 inches in front of the air conditioning condensor using all stainless steel hardware.
I could not bring myself to use those cheesy ties that came with the unit, it is only a matter of time before they break. I installed it in series after the OEM cooler. Your going to need more hose then they supply. Make sure you get transmission fluid hose, any others won't do.
And yes, it will work. I've done this myself. Tape the connection part of the bulb with painters masking tape, clean bulbs, cut some old cardboard out with X's and insert bulbs, paint, install and presto, done.
I'm sorry, when you said "cooler" things I thought you were talking abount oil coolers. And yes, any high temp silver paint can be used, paint them lightly, just enough to cover up color.
Leds look ok at night for lighting up clear tail lights, but during they day they look kinda funky. What you ight want to do is the silver Idea, i would sugest instead of painting them to try and find what are called "Titan" bulbs these are silver coated bulbs that come in both light up red and light up yellow. They will definaltly not show color unless they are lit and should still keep things 100% street legal bulb wise.

I bought a dozen superwhite LED 194's and 4 multi-LED superwhite 194's from these guys. The multi-LED ones have just about all failed now I put them in around May-June 03, in my corner/running lights. I now have the single element LEDs in all running light spots (even the side rear ones). Check these guys out for good prices - sure beats the $7+ / pair at APC , etc. www.superbrightleds.com
And check out the SilverVision bulbs. I've posted this before, so do a search :p It's a Euro spec bulb, but you file off one keying post at the base and voila, its a silver-when-off-amber-when-on 1156 indiccator bulb (or is that 1157?) whatever, it looks 100% better than the amber glow in my nice clear front turn lenses.
Cheers,
