Anybody who has done/knows about 3SGTE Swaps

I'm not ready to do this, I'm just planning and researching and appreciate your help. I'm having a hard time finding a CA-Emissions 3SGTE MR2 Clip to swap with. I see a lot of clips available off Ebay and from Libero USA that are J-Spec (with 225 hp instead of the A-Spec 200). CA Air Resources Board says that Japanese engines are legal as long as they've been identified as functionally equivalent to the A-Spec engine, but going from a 5SFE to a 3SGTE wouldn't fit in this category.

If anybody has done this type of swap that lives in CA, did you use a J-Spec engine? If so, did the state/referee give you a hard time passing smog? Do you know of any way around it besides registering the car in Nevada?

try for a 93 USDM 3S-GTE...

94 engines are rare...

and there are no 95 turbo engines in Cali...

Definately those two know the way the costs and the benefits of the 3s-gte swap to a Gen3. Both are really hot rides too~!
