CEL oxygen sensor

My dad's camry got a CEL and the shop says the oxygen sensor is broken. They are asking 600 (for parts only) to replace both oxygen sensors. Shouldn't the CEL indicate which sensor is broken? Also how much should 2 new sensors cost? Thanks experts.

each sensor should not run more than $150 each and is really easy to change

Yup.

You need a OBD-II scanner to retrieve the codes though. Some autoparts stores do it for free.

youshould always use OEM O2sensor, becuz 90% of the aftermarket o2 sensor fails the emission test. and your's is roughly $300 a piece becuz its probably a 4 wire O2sensor(with heater). alot more than a single or double wire o2 sensor.

i was quoted $256 for a after market O2sensor from napa, but ican get one for $250 from OEM..

but make sure, get somebody to use OBDII on it first b4 repalcing
