Help! STupid dash lights and no more cruise control!

Hey all,
I was on the highway a few days ago and all of a sudden three lights came on on my dash:
the lights one
the battery charge one
and the handbrake one
All at once - at first they were flashing a bit and now they're on all the time. Also, I notice right after that my cruise control no longer worked. Now i'm pretty sure it's just a short somewhere because my handbrake wasn't on, the battery was charging correctly and the lights were ok.

Can anybody tell me where I should look?

Hey, I just had the same thing happen to me this morning! (except for cruise, haven't been using it so dunno if it still works). I read in the archives that the alternator might be on it's way out. Mine's been squealing a bit recently anyway, so it might just be time to replace it.
Mine's an 89 V6 auto wagon.

Yeah finally the car died on me - the alternator was shot! I bought a refurb one and installed it (sooo easy on this car some cars are a real pain in the a*s!) and now everything works great.
