2009 Camry w/ NavTraffic?

I'm thinking about buying a Camry XLE V6, but I wonder if the 2009 will offer NavTraffic? Common sense would say yes, considering the 2009 Corolla and Matrix models will offer it, but is there any confirmation out there on this? It'd be a nice feature to have, considering my car is basically my office.

The only thing that might stop me from buying the Camry is the lack (and complete oversight) of a fold-down or split-fold rear seat in the XLE models. I think that's just crazy.

The Camry isn't being redesigned until 2010 or so, so I wouldn't be too surprised if the Camry didn't get NavTraffic until then.

They don't have to redesign the whole car to add functionality like that. In fact, the only thing that would have to be changed is the actual navigation drive. The 2005 Accord has a different navigation interface than the 2003 does, and there was no redesign there either. It would just surprise me if the Corolla and Matrix had NavTraffic that long before the Camry or Avalon. Especially if Toyota plans on trying to compete with the Altima, not to mention the redesigned Maxima due out next model year.

I have a 2005 Maxima as a company car and have a '08 Camry XLE on order. The Maxima does not have the same fit and finish as the Toyota. Also, my company has to buy a set of tires every 23-25,000 miles due to the low profile type tires the Maxima uses. It is a fun car to drive with the CVT transmission though.

I know that, but from the past it seems as though Toyota keeps the ideas and new technologies they get and incorporate them into the Gen x.5 model, to give customers something to look forward to besides just a face lift.

I know this is a Toyota forum, but in response, it should be interesting to see the redesigned '09 Maxima.

I would still hope that the '09 Camry would add NavTraffic, but I understand Toyota's thoughts of holding new technologies for the redesign. Unfortunately, when more and more manufacturers are offering real-time traffic integration into their navigation systems, it is no longer new technology, and it becomes a matter of trying to "keep up" with the competition.

Chrysler, Dodge, Jeep, Acura, Cadillac, Nissan, Lexus, Infiniti, and Hyundai (starting w/ '09 Genesis) have NavTraffic, and honestly, I'm amazed the '08 Honda Accord didn't incorporate it. Stupid decision on their part.

I *think* we're also supposed to see the 2010 and 2009 within a few months of eachother.

IIRC, the '09 is supposed to be spring of '08 w/ the 2010 revealed in the summer.

(Somebody correct me if that's changed since the rumor)

I could deal with that. My optimal purchase timeframe would be somtime between July and September 2008.
