Has anyone seen the Japan TRD all parts catalog? To me, the body lines of the Toyota Chaser look very, very, VERY similar to that of our beloved camry. TRD USA is of no help though they told me my quickshifter wouldn't fit a GEN 3, and I showed them who's boss! Anyway point being, it would be nice if they used the same chassis so some parts would fit up (e.g. Strut bar).
if the chassis is the same maybe someone with a lotta knowledge, money, and contacts in japan can get hooked up with the right parts to create a RWD camry with that 1jz engine (1jz-gte is the supra engine right? starting to forget some engine codes) that would be like the ultimate sleeper and would make actual drifting on a track with a camry possible (no way is pulling the e-brake on an fwd car drifting as many of you will agree).
on second thought, might as well import the whole car just for the hell of it hehehe

the question should be, "is that j-spec 96 camry just about the ugliest camry you've ever seen?" it looks like its stuck in a corolla body with a crown majestic front on it.
At least they got it right in 97 and on (and with importing 2-Door Camrys and Camry wagons over there as Scepters)
honestly, I like that chaser...change teh orange signals to clear, and give it a nice paint job...its a pretty sweet lookin ride. I'd take it...but thats just my 2c
