3rd Generation Ever Seen These Performance Upgrades?

I've been looking on eBay for pretty much anything I can find for my 92 Cam DLX V6 and I've come across 2 performance upgrades that I'm unsure about. If you guys can help explain them to me that would be great!

1) Throttle Body Bypass Kit - Claims +8hp gain: here's the link http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/92-07-Toyota-Camry-TB-Bypass-Kit-Intake-8hp_W0QQitemZ320183273862QQcmdZViewItem?hash=item3 20183273862

2) OBX TWIN LOOP MUFFLER - Claims +10HP and up gain. What kind of sound can you expect from this muffler? A low/deep sound or the sound those fools in their Civics who rev their engines cuz think they're all big n' bad cuz they have a muffler, but they actually sound like RC cars? (sorry i had to vent) Does this look like crap under your car?: here's the link

Thanks for your input!

throttlebody coolant bypass-= do a search. worthwhile to do, but not for power, nor for the price that ebay wants- go do it yourself with parts from a hardware/plumbing store

as for the muiffler...no "twin loop" muffler will be much good for performance

as for sound....it's hard to say...different mufflers give different sounds for different exhaust setups- it will depend on your engine, y-pipe, cat, piping, resonator, etc.

but by the same token if you just want some sound, 65 bucks isn't bad

I have been watching this silly game for decades. Bottom line, people want to sell you crap. crap, crap, CRAP. Caveat emptor is what i have learned, and don't be a chump, not even for chump change. Water inejction, fuel swirl device, miracle additives, you name it. Not one in a hundred of any of them is worth a crap.

Fortunately we have the net now, to ask other people for their honest, no-lie opinions, and since yu ask, heres mine - beware ANYTHING that has the buzzwords "X amount HP gain"! My opinion, dont waste your money on bull crap.

There are only a few ways to gain hp and almost all of them involve engine hoist, lots of wrenching, and bucks. And if you live in a smog state, check your laws first, as here in Kalifornia you cannot even add headers. What's, they have added trailers here, that they move around to onramps, that measure your tailpipe as you wait to get on the freeway. No shet. If you dont "pass" they will send you the bad news in the mail and/or your next smog check...

So just remember miracles are not sold by paypal, if you want hp, swap engines or swap cars.
