v6 camry reliability over 100k

hey yall, this is my first post here. im selling my corolla and looking to buy a v6 camry, i like the potential the v6 offers. i found a 98 le v6 automatic but the miles are kinda high 120k. my experience with toyotas says it has many miles left but is there anything i should be looking for, any bad habits the v6s might have? you all seem to know a lot about camrys, so any advice would be cool. thanks

PJ

Oh we know plenty aboot camrys...Some more than others...but since no ones replyed yet, I'll leave ya some pointers.

First, figure out how well the car was treated, that'll truly tell you whether that 120k is dangerous or not. As in my car, I use synthetic oil since 90k, and when I hit 120k, it'll still run great im sure. So make sure the car still runs well, and concidering camrys really don't need much more than an oil change to keep em running, make sure he/she kept up on at least that.

Another thing to check is the timing belt replacement, make sure that was replaced, because if it isn't, your either in for big trouble, or about to throw another chunk of change into the car. It is labeled right on the engine, so just take a look.

Last thing I would recommend to check is the trans...god knows no one wants to replace that sucker, so make sure the thing still shifts smoothly, and not crankin through gears, if you can get a test drive that is.

I'm sure more will chime into this thread, figured I'd get ya started tho, good luck finding your car! We're always happy to help out a fellow camry
