tires for the winter

My 2001 Camry LE needs new tires for the winter. Any tire recommendations? Snow tires versus all season? The car travels throughout Western PA. Thanks.

I have 4 -Michelin X-ICE snow tires on my 96 Camry LE wagon and really like them. They have a silica compound imbedded in the rubber to give them better traction on ice. They are a size 185-75-14. I bought 4 extra rims and keep them mounted on these. My summer tires are Michelin Hydro-edge 195-70-14. It's best to get a narrower tire for winter driving on snow and ice. Better grip and less resistance when going thru deep snow. I live in Erie,PA and we get "Lake Effect" snows here. I believe on the 2001 Camry's you've got 15" wheels.
Hope this helps.

I put the same tires on my Dad's '96 I4 wagon, and love them. Replaced my mom's front ones with them too. Have never heard any complaints on them, only praises.

IF you go All Season tires, go with those. They are great in snow. If you drive in snow often, and sometimes deep snow, get snow tires as well.
