3VZ-FE crank angle sensor

On a Toyota 3VZ-FE, what does it use for a crank angle sensor ? Is it the distributor like i orginally thought it was ?

there should be a crank position sensor?? or is that only for obdII vehicles?

I'm sure that the 3vz has it as well

using the dizzy would be a very inaccurate way of telling the crank position

check your haynes manual..

I need to find out what type of sensor it runs, so they try and configure my new ECU to match.

Yeah using a Microtech LT12s. I was going to use a Apexi SAFC Neo, but it's for fuel only, and won't be able to do anything about the timing when it comes onto boost.

Pick-up coil in the distributor.
