3vz-fe with 145,000

93, 3vzfe v6, 145,000 miles, burns some oil, only when i drive it really hard with out letting it warm up, and sometimes from exhaust pipe when i start it up after letting it sit for too long. by i add only about 3/4 quarts between oil changes. Still has all the power.

question.. if you run with the "power ETC" button ON, all the time, can it be damaging, or does it just basically change the ecu to change the shift points, and use a bit more gas?

also, for other 3vz-fe owners, or anyone else that might know, if there is smoke, white, coming from the back of the engine, like right before the firewall. another way to picture it, looking at the engine, from the front, coming from the back of the engine bay. between the engine and the firewall. it only is there right after driving hard with out letting it warm up. where is that coming from? i have a feeling its rear valve cover gasket, but cant be sure.. i just dont want it to be head gasket. but i dont have any loss of compression, that i can feel that is.. and its not constant, just after driving hard w/o warm up.

what type of oil you using???

all cars are supposed to burn some oil..... 10w30 should be used ... i tried using 5w30 and burn like 1 liter when i changed my oil... but with 10w30 its about .5 liters and with hitting red line lots....

as for the smoke im guessing its your exhuast connections ... maybe the flex pipe is damaged???

i'm usin the valvoline 10-30 for high miles over 75000.

have any of you guys had a problem with the rings letting off some oil into the combustion chamber when the car is off, so that when the car first starts up, like in the morning, or after sitting for a long time, that it burns out of the exhaust?

Yep, the white smoke from the engine area is probably your valve seals. Same thing happened to my Camry 3 days after I bought it(used). Cost me about $800 to fix it.

white = coolant
blueish = oil
black = mixture too rich
