Its one out of three things:
1) A phsychological thing.
Depending on your mood, how much traffic there is, or what music you are listening to will make you car feel faster/slower.
Try this. After doing something fun or enjoyable go drive around listening to fast beat music and drive around where there arent too many cars on the road. Oh yea, best results at night since there is less traffic and because ....well just because =P. If you follow those procedures then you will feel that your car is faster!
However if you are pissed off about something bad that just happened and are stuck going thru a traffic ridden street then you will feel as if the motor got swapped with a civic enigne.
2) A weather thing.
Cars run faster in cold weather. Im not sure, but I think every 20F sum degrees the air pressure is 1psi denser so it equates to like a 4-5% increase in power. Also, DONT push the motor too hard in 20F (a bit below 0C??) weather like i did, or you will have a rod go thru your oil pan.
3) Maybe there is really something wrong with your car? When did you last change the motor oil. Go thru periodical maintenance procedures?
Most of the time if your car feels slower its because of #1,2 especially if your car is a 99 like mine is. However if you have a 1991 accord like my friend, the thing is so old that its obvious why the car is lacking power.
