Question brake light switch question?

I think the brake light switch is out in my girlfriends car.

1. Where is it located?
2. How do I test it to see if this is the problem?
3. How do I replace it?

Any help would be appreciated before I take it to a mechanic to look at it for $75 dollars/hr

Oh yeah, I guess that would help. It is a 93 toyota camry 2.2L, automatic. The brake lights will not come on when brakes are depressed and I can not get the car to shift out of park. I have check all of the fuses, and everything looks good. I have read this forum and others and have come to the conclusion that it is the brake light switch.

follow the arm attached to the brake pedal up towards the firewall. I believe it's in that area. Somebody correct me if I'm wrong please.

Thanks everyone. I found it. Phi is right. It is on a bracket near the brake pedal. Went to the 24 hour Autozone and bought a new brake light switch. And voila, problem solved. The car will now shift out of park and the brake lights come on.

Thanks again.
