Strut installation

Please help, I need to know if strut installation is going to be a problem. I have done it a few times on my BMW.

I have a spring compressor and am getting KYB struts for my wife's 1995 Camry LE (4, auto), which only has 36k miles! I don't like the ride, we're gonna firm it up a bit.

I read a post where someone guessed installation would be like 800-900 cakes, kinda scared me. I have never messed with ft wheel drive shafts. Do I need to remove those to do struts?
Thanks in advance!

No.

The struts come off pretty easily.

1. Unbolt brake line and abs line (if you have abs).

2. Unbolt the 2 strut to knuckle bolts and nuts.

3. Seperate the strut from the knuckle.

4. Remove the 3 nuts on top of the strut tower and remove strut from car.

The rear deck and a part of the rear seat needs to be removed to access the nuts on top of the rear struts. I don't remember how to remove the deck and seats on a gen 3 though.

good luck

yeah, i just bought springs and struts, and i am getting them installed Thursday(9/25/03). I was calling around to get a quote for the installation, and the range was massave. One guy told me $1000, i damn near crapped in my pants And then i called a local muffler shop "Fair Mufflers", and i got a quote for $100. I was so amazed, that i'm doing it tomorrow! I will post pics after they're in and after i am done joy riding.
