I got a call today from a guy at Racer X motorsports, not sure if its a big car club or not, but they said they wanted to sponsor me. Pretty much goes like this, I sign a 1 year contract along with 80 bux (just like a processing fee), but i get 80 bux taken off my first purchase from em. And they match up to $10,000 a year that i put into my car. Not sure on ALL the details though, and granted they havent seen my car yet, but anyone else in this situation? Only thing I'm worried about is if my car breaks (like tranny sounds bad now), and I aint got ne money to pay for it, then I'm out. Not sure bout penalties bout that. I want to turn it into a show car, following behind Stickydiljoe of course! DOnt think it will ever look that good, but with an extra 10k in my pocket, i can do some sick shiat with this. What chall think, worth it, or just keep on ricin??
Every serious guy in the show industry has heavy sponsors, so if you wanna compete then you need one. But I'm wondering, if they haven't seen your car, why do they want to sponsor you?

Sounds suspecious to me...ask them for their prior profile as to who have they sponsored (and see if you recognise them on cardomain) and then ask the car owener directly as to his/her exp with them....thats how i would approach it...

Dude, question how did they get your number?
I use to deal with Racer X in SCCA, they are not in the import scence unless they are adding it to their list of credits.
Racer X mainly deal with Rally, NASCAR, CORR, SCORE Dirt Bike racing , SCCA and the likes.
Talk to them some more, and get more information about their sponsorship, and ask them how they came about getting your info. It all could be a fluke mistake that they contacted you or they really want you.
From ppl I use to run with back in SCCA, that had them as sponsors had nothing but praise.
Remeber one thing, voice your concerns and questions, and I hope everything works out for ya!!
