I am planning on purchasing a 2005 Camry XLE very soon. Unfortunately, when I look on the title of a vehicle I was interested in, it does not state the trimline, nor does it state it on the inside of the drivers door or on a carfax report.

Shouldn't there be an obvious way to easily tell what trimline the vehicle is? I imagine there is and I'm just dumb, but I would appreciate all the help I can get.

Thanks in advance.

Look at the features and options.

These are XLE-only features:
- automatic climate control
- rear A/C vents
- rear sunshade
- wood trim
- multi-info display a.k.a. trip computer
- black rear ashtrays (other models get colour-keyed ashtrays)
- seatback pockets
- power passenger seat (I believe it's an option but XLE-unique)

That's all I can think of.

XLE has foot pedal operated parking brake. All others have handles by the shifter.

my SE has the rear sunshade

the one sure fire way to tell is the automatic digital climate control and power passenger seat....all XLEs come standard with these....the VIN number also holds a letter designating the trim level as well....there was a thread here discussing VIN decoding as well...ill try and locate it for you

The XLE's will for sure have the foglights, leather seats (pretty sure), Wood grain panels, digital climate control, 15" (?) alloy wheels. Thats all i can think of, if the car has alot of cool bells and whistles its probably the XLE

my 2003 SE has a hand operated parking brake as all gen 5 SEs do and i have an auto....he is correct, as all LE and SE models have hand operated parking brakes and all XLEs have the foot operated ones and have a little storage pad where the brake would be in a LE/SE

My 2005 SE has seat back pockets.

Oddy, though, my SE has significant differences from the one pictured in CorCamrySE's post above. The differences are in the steering wheel (mine has radio controls on the left side) and the MFD in the Dash (mine is way different). Odd indeed.

That could be it, but the OP said 2005.

Anyhow, my Gen 6 has 3 pedals too...

I must have mis-read. I though he was asking about 2005 Camrys and assumed all 2005 were the same generation. When in the 2005 Model year did it change from 5 to 5.5? I though it was all year for 5.5, but it sounds like I got that wrong.
