Bad news, good luck, good news

My '93 camry wagon was acting kinda wierd lately...scraping over some speed bumps at my school's parking lot, which it should have done fine over, and i didn't know why. i had dropped one of my friends off at her house, which happens to be on a dirt road full of potholes, during the summer and slammed into one of the potholes that i didn't see because of a lack of visibility. i knew something was gonna be messed up, but i didn't know what. turns out the pothole and scraping were related.

Bad news: turns out i had to replace the front left axle.

Good luck: It was only cracked, and it was still usable for like 3 months after the pothole incident, and the auto shop said it could have snapped at any time anywhere, but didn't in that long period.

Good news: it was fixed with no problems and I don't scrape anymore.

That was just a fortunate break for me, because it woulda been real bad had the axle snapped while i was driving. :P

Ouch. But don't ya love it when you find out after the fact that you beat the odds and somehow avoided something bad like that?
