knock sensor relocation complete!!

after blowing the knock sensor on the front bank at 5.5psi on my gen 4.5 supercharged v6 5 speed camry, i decided to relocate the oversensitive toyota knock sensors to the front engine hook about the front exhaust manifold. The car def. pulls a lot harder now i assume because the ecu isnt pulling the timing way back.

i used a 12x1.25 drill tap to make the porper threads in the block for the knock sensors.

i am very happy with this mod, hopefully the sensors will not blow again.

thanks ratko and tony for the help

what method did you use to drill the tap? hand tap tool or drill?

did you drill the existing hole bigger? if so, what size. 10mm?11mm?

I wouldn't use a drill with a tap. Thats just asking for the threads to get fu**ed up.

You can however use a socket and ratchet. I do this with larger taps.

The tap will say what size drill bit to use.
