Alright, here it is, my major problem with my baby. My '99 4 cylinder just started using a greater amount of gas within the past week, the driving patterns haven't changed or anything, I've replaced the plugs, wires, tires, and brakes all within the past 3 months, so what would cause my car to guzzle so much? Any help would be greatly appreciated. (Thanks in advance.)
I haven't done any mods to the engine or anything like that, and I've changed the air filter not all that long ago, it's probably not due for another few hundred miles or so...I don't understand...would exhaust problems cause the car to use more gas than usual?
My mileage is up to about 73,000mi, so I really don't think it's all that bad...there might be some major work in line for it...although I've been trying to keep up with maintenance with it.

Well, I didn't think he was talking about the gas mileage, the mileage is so hard to keep track of, I mean I could check it once, and it could be better or worse the second time around of checking it...it's just hard to understand...I really should check the injectors, they probably need a good cleaning, or maybe some of them need replaced.

What I usually do is reset my trip odometer after every fillup. Then I'd read it upon the next fillup. Take that number and divide it by the number of gallons pumped, that'll get you your Miles per Gallon reading.
How about measuring the air in your tires?

I use "plus" grade gas, and I've checked the tires, all balenced, I talked to a buddy of mine, and he was telling me that there is a possiblity that the fuel filter may be having some problems, could this actually be possible?
