Difference between CE and LE on Gen. 4 and 4.5??

What's the main differences between CE and LE? I've got an LE and I don't see any differences between CE's and mine.

The following all refers to 4-cyl models. V6 models were outfitted a little differently.

From 1997 to 1999, the CE did not have the in-glass antenna. On the 1999 models, the CE did not have the deluxe 3-in-1 radio, the door mounted tweeters, or the power driver's seat. For 2000, the CE kept the 14" wheels while the LE moved on the 15" wheels, but in 2001 the CE got 15" like the LE. At least in 99, the CE also didn't have daytime running lights or twilight sentinel.

Some more minor differences: interior fabric pattern is different, the CE doesn't have a gear indicator on the instrument cluster (if you drive auto). I'm not sure about things like cruise, power windows, power door locks and A/C... they may have been options...

Some models with 15" steel wheels have 275 mm front rotors (same as the v6 models), where most 14" inchers have 255 mm rotors. These rotors are smaller by about an inch (1" == 25 mm, approx). Don't know how this works out over the years though - my friends '98 LE with 14" has the small rotors, my '00 LE with 15" has the big ones.

I think also the power stuff (mirrors, driver seat) that come standard on LE are options on CE.

Just bought a 2000 CE...

The options listed on the original window sticker (thanks previous owner, wherever you are) list a "CE Value Package" consisting of AC, power windows, locks, color-keyed power windows, int wipers, and carpeted floor mats. Cruise control is apparently not standard on the CE.

On the 2000 CE, the radio antenna is imprinted in the glass, and the wheels are 195/70 R14.

4-cyl models manufactured after (approx) March of 99 will have the 275 mm rotors.

Yep... although most dealers ordered their CE's with at least the value pkg... esp in CA or TX I highly doubt you'll find a CE w/o power windows and A/C... so... it's not *that* stripped down.

i have a 99 4 cyl LE that doesnt have power driver seat and no tweeter on the doors

but i do have rear glass antenna and auto headlight

I think the '99 LE Value Pkg was offered only in the US... sorry
