Sup fellas. I just wanted to find out how good your gas mileage is. Before my turbo, I got 30mpg, now at 5psi I am getting 42mpg. (highway) Not too sure about city mileage, I'll have to check that out sometime.

I hate you so much......j/k
I only get 19-21mpg in the city , and that is where I do most of my driving. Highway is probly mid-upper 20's but I really don't drive highway that much so I don't know.
when i was commuting from NE Sac to Stockton, 342 miles before a 13 gallon fill-up (26.3 mpg), all highway
Now that I just go from NE Sac to South Sac (Florin Rd), 300 before a 13 gallon fill-up (23.07), highway and surface street.
I found that it really made no difference what company's gas I used (New West, Chevron, etc) unless I went to Arco. Anybody else got the same experience???

I do use the Burien Toyota kit at 5PSI. I recorded the 42mpg from Alamogordo NM, to Taos NM on 91 octane. 300 miles on 1/2 a tank. Mind you, this was not on cruise control the whole way. There were lots of little towns, and long streches where I punched it (alot).
i can squeeze out 40+ if i turn off power to my tranny and attempt to be conservative. usually i average 30-35 mpg with the power on and normal driving.

my 93 camry 2.2l with over 215K+ on the odometer gets an average 30 mpg 80% highway 20% local traffic. everytime i filled up 13 to 14 gallon would give me a cruise range of 400 to 450 miles
first off, the turbo shouldn't be running during normal driving, only under heavy acceleration.
Secondly, how can anything that increases the airflow, thus requiring more fuel, reserve fuel?
I asked around MR2 boards about fuel consumption before I started buying the parts to swap into my lil Tercel, the MR2 guys ALL told me to expect 30mpg, untill I hit the gas, then they ALL said when you hear it spool up the gas mileage is gone, they said expect the consumption of a V8 making the same power.

First off, if you think I'm lying, screw you! Second, a turbo "runs," as you put it, constantly. I see boost at around 2000 RPM's and am fully boosting at 2500 RPM's. Put it this way, when normally driving up a hill using cruise control, gravity is exerted on the engine forcing it to raise RPM's to continue going the same speed. With my turbo, I now see a raise in boost, or decrease in vaccuum while the engine RPM's remain the same. And what determines how much fuel is needed? RPM's!

This I do not know for sure, but logic tells me no. A turbo spins idependently of the crankshaft giving you an exponential gain in power. A supercharger is ran in line with the crankshaft. The faster it spins; the faster the crank spins, giving you a linear gain in power.
