136,000 miles is not alot on a well maintained camry. I'd start with the basics: do a compression check before throwing any more money at the engine. Assuming you find good compression on all cylinders, just maintain it like you normally would. Unless you like wasting lots of money: If it has adequate power and fuel economy, good compression and no engine noise, a simple tune up ought to be all you need to maximize this engine's potential.
New distributor cap and rotor, if used, new plug wires and plugs. Set timing to specs. Whatever else toyota says to do, and just drive on the engine til it falls apart and it is time to put in a used japan engine or get another car.
