Headlight wiring prob.

Just under the connector for the headlight bulb, the wire has pulled out. the light has been shorting out latly and i just would go up and giggle it and it would come back on, so i thought i would eventually check it out, well tonight the light just wont come on, so with the little bit out light that i had i saw that the wire has worn or pulled out of the socet. Main question, how much of the driver side headlight wiring harness do i have to replace? Or would it be easier to just splice a new socet into the wire? Thanks

I will look at it more tomar. when i have some light, maybe that will answer my questions, but any replys or suggestions will help. Thanks again

Reed

It depends on what caused the wire to come loose. If the socket itself is damaged, it's easier (and more reliable in the long run) to replace the socket and splice in a new one.

If it pulled out and it's bare wire, you might need a new socket anyways.

If it came out with the contact, then you probably just need to take some needlenose pliers to reshape the contact and push it back in.
