i have a 2001 camry 4 cylinder.
the mtce manual says change spark plugs every 60000 miles
(saying reqd for emission warranty). how often do we have to
change spark plugs and wires.
i see people here are going with iridium plugs. are platinum ones good enough (from dealer)? will the gaps be adjusted if we get it from dealer. do i have to just put it in?
if it says every 60k miles then every 60k miles. from what i've read, upgraded wires and spark plugs won't do much for a naturally aspirated inline 4 engine. it'll help if you're running forced induction or maybe if you set the compression ratio higher

What about in a V6 Camry? I know it ain't exactly "performance" vehicle, but what would be the best spark plug to use in the 3vz-fe? btw, it's stock....no mods

Whenever you upgrade in power, you want to upgrade all three areas equally, air/fuel/spark.
Stock engine-->Stock plugs are good enough. You will not notice a difference if you just change the plugs.
