My question is about a squeaking that I hear when in drive, it's constant and everything. I asked a friend about it, and he was saying that I should regrease the bearings and everything, so is that what I should do, or could it be something else? Thanks.

does it also squeak when you shut a door ?
my mechanic told me it might be a motor mount...

I've checked both motor mounts just about a few days ago, because someone told me that it might be the same problem, but they seemed to both be in almost new conidition. The squeaking seems to be coming from the front wheels while going down the road about 25 m.p.h. or lower...the doors do squeak, but the hinges need oiled. So could this be the bearings? Or is there something else it could be?
I have checked all of the motor mounts and stabilizers, the all seem to be in almost new condition...at first I only found two, and then I found the others today, they are all in good shape...the squeak is coming from the wheels though...
Can you describe the sqeaking? Is it like a rattle when you go over small bumps? Do you hear more of the noise when you turn right or left? Try going to a parking lot and turing in a cricle with your steering wheel fully turned. Do this both to the right and left. Do you hear a noise?
I hear the squeaking while going in circles in both directions in the circles, it's at is loudest while I'm going straight down a flat road, no bumps or anything, and going at a steady speed. It's coming directly from the wheels, and it seems to stop squeaking as soon as I apply the brakes. As soon as I let off the brakes, it starts squeaking again.

Sorry to bring up this thread again, but I was curious to whether there was ever an answer on this subject. I have noticed mine doing the same thing lately, especially when I am in my schools parking garage.
So if the question has not been anwsered, maybe someone can shed some light on us, thanks
An answer to this problem would be very nice, although I'm rather sure that it's either the CV or Universal joints lacking grease or something of that sort. If I don't find out anything on here about it, and I figure it out sooner or later, I will let you know. On the other hand, if you figure out before me, let me know.
You can check if it is a motor mount by doing several things....
First have someone in the car give it a little gas while you look at the engine. If the engine severly moves to one side or another then you may have a motor mount problem. Next, you can try stepping on the throttle while driving. If you hear a loud clunk or bang that can indicate a bad motor mount. Finally, if when you give it a lot of gas the car pulls severly to one side or the other that can also indicate a bad mount. Don't confuse this with torque steer! What you describe doesn't sound like a motor mount problem. Some things you may want to look at..... sway bar bushings. Are they bad? Do they need to be lubricated or replaced? You can check the rear control arms, too. What year is your Camry. Does the noise come from the front, back, or both? WHen you hear noise that gets worse when turning, then it usually is suspension related. The control arms tend to be a primary suspect. If you car is not under warranty (if it is go to the dealer!) then go to a place like Midas or Tuffy or someone in you area that give FREE estimates. Have them test drive it an give you there opinion.
I just replaced my boots on the CV joints, and after taking the whole driveaxle out of the car, taking the joints apart and off of the axleshaft, cleaning them, regreasing them, and reinstalling them, the squeaking has stopped. Try this, and if this don't work with your car, it is possible that you may need to either tighten a loose motor mount, or possibly replace the worn ones.
I had the same problem. I heard noise especially when turning at low speeds and when going over small bumps at low speeds. I was sure the sway bar bushings needed to be replaced. WHne I brought it to the dealer they replaced the right rear control arm That fixed the problem. About a week later I heard more noise. I brought it back to the dealer and asked them to check out the front suspension as they just replaced a componet in the rear. They checked it out and said my front bumper supports were loose. They said when I went over small bumps the car rattled. They tightened them and the car sounds perfect. These rattles seem to be very common on Camrys. BTW-mine is a 2000 Camry LE-V6. Auto trans. I have about 29000 miles on it. The problems about occured at about 27000 miles.
