a/c camry
I have a 1992 2.2 Camry and have installed a complete a/c system with used parts from a 1993 Camry and it is working perfectly. Camrie's before 1994 used to work on R12 but I made the retrofit on R134 and it's working greatly, no leaks, cold air, everything perfect !
I don't think the 1994 a/c would work dramasticly work better as long as your have enough refrigerant in your system. The only part that might be slightly better is the evaporator (inside the dash) as it is a little bit bigger (but I am not 100% sure).
If you still intend to do this changeover, be careful as I know that just regarding year 1992, 2 different lines have been used, so you have to buy the correct one. My advice would be to find the origin of the leak and repair it.
Oh yes, last thing, I heard that these years Camrie's had leaking evaporator problems. Maybe just changing the evaporator (even with a used one) could do.
