This S**t sucks

Awww Right.... I was driving home one morning.... and a semi in front of me lost a tire. Well, the truck in front of me managed to avoid the blown tire, but the remains of the tire hit me square in the grill and hood. It has knocked out my emblem in the front and makes my car look kinda tacky. I've got a '99 and I know the grill is attached to the bumper, but, how difficult would it be to install either a wire mesh grille, or a billet style grill in my car. Let me know... Something has to be done... My car looks like a ricer piece of S**T otherwise... c'mon, I wanna be better than that. =

a truck managed to swerve and avoid it, but your nimble camry got it square? sorry to hear about that, if the camry is anything like my Tercel, it's very easy to take apart and repair, just start looking for screws

buddy had that happen

The truck tire hit his front tire, knocked it in by bending a connecting rod, caused his tire to jam into the fender, caused his truck to go careening into the ditch and roll 3 times.

Lucky man.

Yeah it does suck...

I had a horrible experience as well, a truck in front of me with no mud guards, no to mention that is was carrying gravel and the bed was not clean enough, made me rethink the way I drive. Some gravel rocks hit my windshield....the thing shattered at about 80-90 MPH, imagine that, and it all happened taking a curve.

Thank the LORD that no one was behind me or beside me, it would've gotten pretty ugly if I had hit another car when the windshield went bye bye.

It wasn't the actual windshield that bothered me, cuz the film on the windows and what not, prevented it from flying into my face and REALLY messing things up....it was the fact that I never got to give the trucker a good kick in the ASS

I don't like driving near semis for this very reason. I was coming driving north through central Alabama on I-65.... Saw a van in front of me swerve, I was looking like, "what the hell?" saw a pieces of rubber boucing all over the interstate. The van (driven by my dad, actually) avoided all 3. Me, with nowhere to move, avoided 1, watched another literally bounce OVER my cam , then watched another connect with my front bumper... THUNK. At first I thought it had just bounced up under my car and hit something, but a few days later while walking out to my car from work, I found a large piece of rubber/wire mesh lodged in the lower front bumper, between the fins. That piece of rubber was HUGE, about a foot long and 8 inches wide.

Yeah, my nimble camry got it square in the middle. I coulda swerved, but the SUV next to me would've gotten mad when I clipped them. Most of my cam is easy to take apart, but the grille and the bumper are attached as one peice.

Yeah, but I woulda been better off if it didn't happen at all.

That sucks!!!

Yeah I guess I'm kinda lucky cause it didn't do any more damage than it did. BUT.... Still I wanna know, would it look better with a wire mesh grille, or a billet style grille. I know I've gotta do some cosmetic work on the hood and some cutting off of the old grille from the bumper, but.... What looks better and what's easier. Anyone else got any ideas?????

Buddy of mine with a Camry had a large peice of metal fly through his windsheild and land in his front passenger seat, thank god no one was riding with him.....it would have killed them.
