Question 235/40ZR/18 Tires?

Hey guys,

I am about to get a good deal on some 18 inch Motegi wheels with some 235/40ZR/18 rubber on them. $450.00

5 on 4.5/ or 5/100 and the offset is +45 High pos offset

Before I decide to go ahead and buy them, I want to be sure if they fit my 1995 Camry?

I did a search and found out my
car's bolt pattern: (5x114.3) and
offset40mm-45mm)
but I don't know about the tires.
Would they be too wide?
Will I need spacers?
Basically.....Will they fit or not?

By the way these wheels and tires were used on a Lexus IS300 for about 3500 miles.

Thanks Please respond. Time is running out on this deal.

what are the dimensions of your stock tire?

check this tire calculator, enter the old and new data and compare if it's bigger/smaller and speedometer effect

http://www.miata.net/garage/tirecalc.html

also go on sites such as 1010tires.com, find out which wheels fit on your car , see if the motegi wheel you want is there

well i hope you're talking about hte lug pattern is 5x114.3 and not 5x4.5...because I believe your model has the same pattern as me, but if that was just a typo, offset might be a problem, not sure though, but I have 235/40/18, and it fits pretty good, however getting 19's soon

5 x 114.3 and 5 x 4.5 are the same. Ones in mm I think...and the other is measured in inches.

Yeah, I think the bolt pattern is not a problem.

My main concern is the tire.

Will I have a problem running 235's on my Cam?

I have heard people on this forum say that they needed spacers to run the 17 inch wheels from an IS300 on their 3rd gen Camry, I thought I might run into the same issue with these rims because they were used on an IS300 before. I know these are not the stock wheels from an IS300 but I figured I' d use the same logic and have the same problem.

I hope I'm making sense here.

Thanks for your replies!

Sounds like your getting a great deal on that wheel/ tire combo. You may experience some rubbing with the 235 series, however I woundn't discourage you getting these, the real problem area would be in the rear, I have 215/35/19's on my gen 3 and it fits about snug as you can get without scraping the side walls on any kind of bump. It also depends on whether your car is lowered or not. Should you run these you may have to have your rear fenders rolled out.

235 fits me, not a problem except on a sudden hump, but it barely scrapes when i go down, turning is fine for me, and ic about those lug pattern never knew, but i think it should fit, not sure though about the offset though, that could be a problem, since mine is +40 and its kinda a snug

I have a 2000 Camry and just put on 215/55/16's. My stock tires were 205/65/15's. The height was okay, but in the rear 3mm spacers were required. I would call Tire Rack and ask then if I were you. I would guess your wheels and tires will fit with the use of spacers.
