My "import" car was made in the United States. My "domestic" car was imported from Canada.

Not flaming, just saying.
Your point is what? That I should buy another rolling disaster and wallet siphon like my Crapillac instead of an upmarket version of our ultra reliable Camry such as a Lexus so GM can continue to palm off the same junk forever?
How about this? GM and Ford build cars with long term reliability for at least ten years and then I'll rethink the issue. Employment? Build better cars and I'll buy one and you'll have employment. In my business I'm only as good as my last job. Give that philosophy a shot and see if you can do better.
Just for the record, my '04 Chevy van had a PS leak and a front cover leak at under 5K miles. That's just sloppy workmanship by some bozo on the line. The repair was "free" of course, but I lost three days of work each time so maybe it wasn't so "free". What about my employment?
