heater/climate control issue

Tonight the heater quit in our 98 Avalon. The blower won't work and the manual and auto buttons don't light up etc. The outside temperature indicator is also out.
Anyone out there experience this sort of a problem?
I am thinking fuse or relay to start with but haven't gone any further. Had a look at the interior fuse panel and pulled the "heater" fuse - looks to be alright.
Anyone have electrical diagrams?

Sorry, it's a problem on the 98 Avalon. It has an $800 USD solution. I found that the best thing is to wait until the climate control begins to operate after turing on the ignition before starting the car. Seems to prevent this problem every time so far.
