Switching from sealed to servicable struts; realistic?

All my struts are blown from when my car was lowered, and I need new ones. I can get strut cartridges for around 30 bux per strut, but its gonna cost me 70 bux per strut to get the whole assembly. I know I have sealed struts, so I was wondering how hard it wud be to switch to servicable. Of I can cut out the old one, does the new one just slide in? Ive never worked with servicable b4, so much help needed here! And I know the difference, but I dont know what I need to do for the conversion. Just Dremel around the old one and pop in the new one, no kinda sealer or nething around the new servicable ones? Or are the strut assemblys differenct for servicable and sealed?

i guess they could be cut and rewelded, but your best bet is just to find some serviceble struts in the junk yard

I'm presuming that you're talking about stock struts, since you said that you blew them cuz you lowered your car?

then I'd say if you're going to pay full price for new struts, you may as well get some after market performance struts or something....then at least you won't blow your struts again, and you'll only spend a bit more....

or else, do what oldman says to do....

So even if the cartridges are servicable, they still gotta be welded into the strut housing? Can I usesomehting like JB Weld, or that clay stuff that hardens (not sure bout the name, thats what I used to put on my shifter knob though)? Gettin em out aint a prob, but if they have to be welded in, that might be a problem.

serviceble require no cutting or welding, that's why they're called serviceble, take off the nut, take out the sleve, put in a new one, put the nut back on, and you're done
