Man, Ive been kinda bored, and Ive been lookin back at all the posts Ive made over the year Ive been here, and I must say that this place has helped me GREATLY in working on cars, which is good becuz thats what im goin to school for in the spring. I mean I went back and saw one of my posts where i said "what are reverse gauges?" Not sure if all u guys were as ignant as me when u first got here, but dear God, I cannot believe that I was that stupid when it came to cars, considering how much I know now!
all I know is that if I had known some of the stuff back in the day as I do now, I coulda saved myself a good bit of time/effort/money and spent some more money on certain things instead of redoing it better later on
and the fact that I've now met and made friends with some great ppl cuz of TN....with special props to the usual "core" crew

I, on the other hand, think you all have corrupted me. I used to be a sweet, simple lad, caring only for the pleasures of walking in the woods, picking daffodils and wildflowers, and writing poetry.
Now I regularly read tech articles, use car-related terms in daily conversation, and get my hands all greasy and soiled with engine excrement.
Yeah, I hear ya Spills. I remember when I was first starting out, I didn't even know what an air intake was, and hell, the term itself is pretty much self-explanatory! But yeah, Toyota Nation, Team SC3 and Camry Man's Passing Lane were all excellent forums and provided a surprisingly vast wealth of info.
It's always fun reading up on something here on one of these forums, perhaps maybe even something you plan on doing yourself oneday. I personally think half the fun of modding cars lies in modding them yourself, especially when you have no idea what the hell you're doing , rather than paying more money just to have someone else risk screwing up your car maybe even worse just to install something.
But I'd like to give a shout out to Hotwheelharmer. He helped me out from the very get-go of it all and taught me quite a bit and actually took the time to e-mail me back informative and helpful answers to questions like "what would be the best mods a beginner like me can do to my car?" whereas many others would simply say something like "dude, SEARCH." You get the picture (heck, I'm guilty of saying the same thing myself). But it's weird. I mean, when I was noob, man, I literally hardly knew anything at all about cars, didn't know where to start, how stuff worked, yet I was interested in learning. It's neat to see just how far I've come, and all this in just less than a year!
Sadly for TN, I'll admit that I've recently purchased a 93 milano red Honda Del Sol, and have since ceased work on my gen. 2 Camry. I'll still use it as my beater car though. But now that I've got a fresh new car (or "slate"), and know a bit more, and am wary of the way of rice, I'm confident I'll make this lil car even better than before. But don't get me wrong. I still visit and post here on Toyota Nation occassionally. And I still have much respect for Toyotas in general. It's just that I specifically wanted a 2 door, preferrably 2 seater car, and the Del Sol had just that, plus a removable targa top and comes stock with sporty bucket seats, and was a 5-speed manual in mint conidition. I simply could not resist.

Packing your lunch in a paper bag-$5.00
Eating your lunch you bought on an airplane-$50.00
Losing your lunch from the airplane's cuisine, but not having a paper bag-Priceless
For everything else, there's paper bags!
ya man, I hear ya on that. Hotwheelharmer, 88LE, djprefix, racerhex, toyrolla, white90dx, smt_007, and Stickydiljoe just to name a few. Some people Ive left out, forgive me. Its 3:00 in the AM, ima lil wasted, and pretty tired. So to all u guys out there who have helped me a lil here and there, THANK YOU! This place has taught me to represent to the fullest (although I completely riced out the car b4 i found this place, FORGIVE ME!!) of what I got. People sometimes snicker here and there, but I could care less really. Reliable, purrrrrrrs, nice sound system, and gets 22 mpg. Ill tell ya some good stories when I can think str8.
