Gen5 Changing Air Filter?

How do you change an Air Filter on a 2002 4 Cylinder Camry? I loosened the 2 bolts on the housing but I had a really hard time getting the cover off and I didn't see any clips. What else do I need to do? Pictures would be helpful!

make sure the bolts are all the way loose. then pull up and to the right... there are two "tabs" on the left of the box that lock that side in.

make sure you unscrew the O2 sensor, since it snags. I changed my filter yesterday to the TRD high flow. after you get the 02 sensor off, you'll have more slack.

Thanks I did it Yesterday! I still had a little trouble even though I removed some things connected to the Air Filter Housing. It sure is a well built car!

I noticed after I put the Air Filter in the housing and screwed down the 2 bolts I could seen the white edges of the Air Filter. I checked and it is in the right way. Then what really trouble me was when I turned on the car it sounded a little rougher than before. Is this normal?

I put in a Purolator Air Filter which seemed to match up with the old one. It just doesn't seem like I should be able to see the edges of the Air Filter or that the car should be running rougher. It should be running better! Can somebody shed some light on this?

you're fine, the TRD filter sticks out a bit too, just make sure all the screws are tight and the left clamps along with the front clamp is aligned and sitting properly.
