I put in a new headgasket on my 95' toyota 2.2l winter beater- 4cyl. After I installed the timing belt, I turned the crank(with a wrench) 1/2 turn so I could take up the slack on the belt. The belt slipped off the cam sprocket while the crank was being rotated and continued to turn while the cam stayed in place. My crank now is at TDC, but the cam is sitting at a 1/2 turn or 180degrees before TDC.
Now I must realign the cam and crank.
If I continue to turn the cam clockwise( by hand) 180degrees in order to bring it back to TDC and in alignment with the crank TDC, will I damage a valve?
