Cold Air, New Tires, and nostalgia

I didn't drive my camry for about 2 months since I have been in college, yet this past weekend i got the treat of driving it. YAY! Anyway I got some "free" new tires so she handles alot better and alot less road noise. Best of all, it was cold out so my intake really improved HP and she sounded wonderful. Also, before i left I had to buy a new Kicker 200.2 amp for my subs and it sounded perfected. I don't know if eveything seemed so good just because i missed my car, or because it really did. I'm mos tproud of the subs though. I got a lot of comments. Hooray for tires and music!!!!

Do you have an actual cold air intake on your 5SFE? Cool! Can I see some pics of your install?

Thanks man!

$40 on ebay last year, and mine is loud as hell. my guess is that since it's not heavy plastic, so more noise gets out. Combine that with my exhaust, and I set car alarms off and wake up old people every time I turn the car on.

lookin back on my kit.. since its not on at the moment, i see that it came with a thin tube that is about 8 inches long and a few brackets... now when i put the intake in and ran with it.. i didnt use those 2 items.. what exactly are they for??

tube

the tube is for an intake hose that, on most cars, is in the stock airbox... however on the camry it is routed directly into the throttle body... so there's no need for it when u put on an aftermarket intake... the bracket is to support the actual intake but it doesn't fit any where... We paid alot less for our intakes so i guess thats why we have excess parts and wizzing noise. Mine is loud but doesn't wake people up.... My stereo wakes people up.
