...So I buy one of those thick, chunky rubber floormats for $9 on sale at Target. I think it's going to be a nice replacement for the $.99 ones in my car right now.
I get it home, drop it on the floor of the car, and see it needs to be trimmed, so I start hacking it up (it's one of the ones thats built to be cut up, it has the 'lines') and get it pretty close to where I want it.
I get in, and push the clutch in, it hits the tall ridge on the floormat and stops. Sugar...
I pull the floormat as far back as I can and put the clutch in, fine. But I let it out and the clutch grabs the floormat and lifts it up. If I was driving, I would be in trouble. Sugar...
Even though the clutch doesn't work, I move things around and push the gas pedel to the floor (car is off, duh). It hits the ridge on the floormat and stops, about 1" off the ground...
I realize the cutting I would have to do to this floormat to make it work would make it about the size of a magizine, and it would just move around when my feet moved.
At that point, I throw the stupid thing on the ground and put the old one back in.
What a waste of $9...
Just ranting, but if you are going to buy floormats, check out the pedel clearence BEFORE you hack it up.
