Bought new Sylvania low beam headlights for my toyota camry... not screwing in!

Whats up guys.. my GF has a toyota camry 2002 and i bought some sylvania silverstar's to replace her headlights which are nearly burned out... The model is 9006 ST.

Anyway, i unscrewed the old lights and tried screwing in the new ones, but it doesn't fit...

I double checked again and this is the right model for the headlights. I notice that the 3 'tabs' that stick out of the bulb that are supposed to screw into the car don't exactly match up to the old bulb. The top tab is left of center while the tab on the old bulb is right of center. WTF? Any suggestions? thanks in advance!

do the bulbs that you bought have a "cover" on top of it, or is just a bare bulb?
in other words, which of these two does the bulb look like?

if it is the first bulb, you bought the wrong bulb.. you can easily mod them to fit though..

if it is the second bulb with the "cover", then you purchased the correct bulb. you must not be twisting it in correctly.. they should be placed into the holder with the plug facing to the left, when putting them in from the front of the car.. once they are seated, you will turn it downwards until the plug is facing down..

Hi MrSo0h0o, thanks for the reply... actually it seems to be the opposite for me. The black bulb in your picture is the one that was in the car and i purchased the gray bulb with the 'cap' at the top and that's the one that isn't fitting... so i guess i have to cut the tabs to make it fit, huh?

Edit: D'oh! I think i might've mixed up the high beam and low beam lights, lol... the low beam lights are on the outside while the high beams are on the inside, right?

yep that sounds about right.. the one without the cap is for the high beams.. you must have mistaken the high beam and low beam locations
