Hi, first time board user here. The side view mirror glass fell out of the housing on my wife's '99 camry (it got 'dinged' by a truck earlier). It's a power mirror. I need to get the mirror glass w backing plate from a junk yard (or if you know a good parts source I'd be grateful) and am not sure how to remove it from the housing. It looks like the glass assembly attaches to a plastic plate on the mirror motor via some type of plastic fasteners that are on the back of the mirror. Before I just start pulling on the mirror I thought I'd check to see if there is some 'technique' involved in removal and installation. Your comments would be appreciated.
thanks,
Jim

I have a 1993 camry which is a gen 3. I am not sure what the manufacturing differences are between gen 3 and gen 4. But as far as gen 3, the mirror piece alone just clips into a little ball-joint type of bracket in the mirror housing. If your gen 4 is the same, it should just be a pop and click. But you might want to make sure before you go popping it.

You should be able to find a replacement part for this at any local auto parts store.

Good luck.

Welcome to the forum.
