1st Gen Camry Performance?

I've had a 1st gen Camry for a few years now any there's been a running joke for as long as I've had the car. My friends and I call it my "racing camry", obviously a sarcastic reference to the lack of performance.

Anyway, it's been sittin for a few months now since it won't pass DEQ anymore, it has 199k on the clock. I have a fresh 1S from Japan that I got to throw in there but it hasn't been a priority since I don't even drive the car, I have a Tacoma for my daily driver. Because of that, I've been thinkin about maybe makin a sleeper out of it.

I used to have a MKII MR2 Turbo and I fell in love with the 3SGTE engine. I had a thought once about dropping one in the little Camry but I didn't think much more about it since it was my daily driver.

Now that I have another daily driver, I'm wondering what can be done to these little hotrods

A 3sgte in a first gen is an excellent, excellent idea! Sleepers are awesome

But since you've got a 1S siting around, would it be possible to maybe build it up a little and create a turbo app for it? I've never heard anything about that motor so I don't know how realistic that'd be.

I would also like to suggest the possibility of a 4age. You can always get custom pistons made for your 1s. That'll give you some hp.
