tracing speaker wire in '96 camry

I think i have a bad wiring connection going to my right rear speaker. When i test if the speaker is blown or not, by using a battery, i definitely can tell that the speaker works. Yet there seems to be no power going to it from just turning on the car stereo, as i tried to splice another speaker with the existing wires and nothing happens. I did this on the other side and it works fine for me.

Is there a way to test if the wires going from the speaker to the stereo are bad? Is that what a multimeter does? If this is the case, how much does it usually cost to get the wires replaced/fixed? Thanks in advance!

Get a multi-meter with an ohms setting. Use this to check the resistance of each speaker wire. Should be 0 ohms or very close to it. If a bad wire you can run your own replacement. Make sure the stereo is actually putting out power on the side with no output.
